Rationale:

The aim of this activity is to learn about family life by presenting facts in a familiar game pattern.

 

Prerequisite:

Knowledge of how to design a crossword puzzle

 

Method:

The educator will divide the participants into groups and assign one of the listed families to each group: the Yanomami from Amazonas, the Catoira from Argentina, the Mariano de Souza Caldas’ from Brazil and the Visslamils from Venezuela.   Photocopies of the text and fact sheets should be provided.

 

Each group will design a crossword puzzle using the information from the text and fact sheets on their assigned family.

 

The final version of the puzzle should be photocopied for the other groups.
